Who or what particularly motivated you to pursue a career in cycling?

The professional work at RSV Irschenberg motivated me a lot. Coach Christian Lichtenberg was an important mentor with his wisdom about cycling, racing and race tactics, his humour and his assertiveness. Also the contact with Giro d’Italia winner Claudia Lichtenberg or Christian Grasmann made me realise what my goal is and gave me the opportunity to exchange ideas with professionals.

Greatest sporting successes

An important victory was the JP Judendorf-Straßengel race. There I won the mountain classification and came third overall.
We were very successful with the Auto Eder Bayern team. I did most of the helping work and every time the team won through my efforts I felt a sense of achievement.

What are your goals for the season?

My main goal for the 2022 session is to get back into the national squad. In addition, it would be good if I could finish in the top 10 of the U23 classification in a few tours. Another goal is to get into an escape group and to clear mountain classifications where it is not necessary for me to wear the mountain trike at the end of the tour.

What does cycling mean to you?

For me, cycling means letting go and concentrating on one thing. It gives me vitality, relaxes me and is a lot of fun. I’m happy every time I get on my bike.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I see myself in the World Tour.

Is there a tradition you live by?

No, not really. I rather break traditions. For example, my whole family is involved in the arts, in performing. I, on the other hand, don’t have that much to do with it.
