How did you get into cycling?

My father used to race, so did my great grandfather, uncles – so cycling has always been in the family. When I left school I got a job as a mechanic at my local bike shop, Moroni Bikes. The staff there were always encouraging and would allow me time off to race. Mum and dad were supportive to take me anywhere to race. I also raced triathlon so we as a family were away many weekends at a race.

What have you learned for life from competitive sport?

Cycling gives you a good perspective on life, as you have some really hard miserable days on a bike, rain, cold, crashes, ect. So in every day life when I seems like a bad day I remind myself it can always be worse.

Who or what inspires you?

I really like the way Egan Bernal races as he’s a pure climber.

Your biggest success so far?

Stage win at Tour de l `Avenir (UCI 2.NCup ).

What are you looking forward to with the Pushbikers?

To give the team and myself success. I can remember watching Christian race at our internationally known Bendigo Madison, when I was younger.
